From the Project Page: "The Northwest Extension Phase II project [extends the] light rail west on Dunlap Avenue from 19th Avenue, then north on 25th Avenue and across I-17 at Mountain View Road, ending on the west side of the freeway near the former Metrocenter Mall." This poster commemorated not only the extension of the light rail, but local landmarks, such as the Sarmiento Building, North Mountain, and Castles N' Coasters. Motifs and elements of public art at the new light rail stations (created by artists Pete Goldlust, Mary Lucking, Janelle L. Stanley, Mary Shindell, Susan Zoccola, Oliverio Balcells, and Laurie Lundquist) are also featured.
This commemorative poster was given out at the January 27th, 2024 Extension Opening as well as posted in several of Valley Metro's busses and trains in early 2024.

In-Progress
The text featured in the thumbnail sketches was removed early on, as it was determined that the graphic design team would instead edit everything in at the bottom.
Several color and compositional changes were made at the suggestion of the Valley Metro team at several points in the process.
Thumbnail Sketches
My initial sketches featured two different angles, with the Valley Metro team near-unanimously opting for the more dynamic composition.
