Hello, I'm Kelsey P. (aka "keymintt")! I currently work in and around Phoenix, AZ as an art educator and freelance illustrator.
My body of work is split between digital illustration, oil paintings, and pen and ink drawings; regardless, my work centers on the disruption of binaries, specifically those between human and nonhuman, mundane and supernatural, and vitality and decay. To empathize with the nonhuman is to acknowledge the monstrous or “unnatural” parts of oneself, and the fluid nature of defining monstrosity leaves room for exploration and transformation. I am a fifth-generation Arizonan and frequently use the Sonoran Desert as a backdrop for my work. I received my BFA in Art (Drawing and Painting) in May 2022 from Arizona State University. My work has been exhibited at The Herberger Theater Center in Phoenix, Art One Gallery in Scottsdale, City of Surprise Arizona’s City Hall Gallery, and Gallery Nucleus in Los Angeles among others. Freelance clients have included: Valley Metro, the City of Gilbert, AZ, Handelabra Games (in collaboration with Green Ronin Publishing), Evil Hat Productions and Chaosium Inc.. Tools of the trade: Wacom tablet, Clip Studio Paint, Oil paint, Fountain pen Email: [email protected] Commission Status and Information |
