Role: Illustrator Programs used: Clip Studio Paint From the Call for Artists: "Goodyear displays banners on 200 streetlights. These banners are displayed on: • East/West on McDowell and Indian School • North/South on Bullard, Litchfield, and Estrella/Pebblecreek Parkway • Wood Boulevard, Monte Vista, 150th Ave. The project calls for an artist that is excited about engaging with others and creating designs that reflect and celebrate the area. Artwork will be printed on 30.5in wide x 72in tall double sided 22oz. block-out vinyl. Artwork will be displayed April through June and be used annually as long as the material remains in good repair and has not faded." As one of the four artists selected to create a design for the city's light pole banners, I wanted to illustrate something that reflected the wildlife in found in Goodyear, AZ. After presenting three sketch proposals, the council decided on my red tailed hawk sketch, which I then rendered in Clip Studio Paint. |
Proposal SketchesEach of the proposed sketches contains a sun ray motif similar to that found in the City of Goodyear's logo.
