Six artists were selected to illustrate five sides of a 55" x 45" x 26" in. traffic cabinet. Each artist met up with two students from Arizona College Prep High School to discuss what they would like to see on a traffic box in their neighborhood, since all of the boxes were in proximity to the school.
Located at the intersection of Gilbert Rd. and Powell Place.
As a fantasy illustrator, I was very excited when the ACP students I met with also created works about the imaginary and whimsical. When discussing ideas, the students and I decided on a mural that would incorporate the school's knight mascot, Thunder, along with the knight's famous counterpart creature- the dragon. Other elements this mural draws upon are the school's colors, the surrounding desert landscape, and flowers found in the neighborhood.
